Unwavering Faith

Unwavering Faith

Dear Church Family,

One month ago, we were excited that the Hispanic congregation, Iglesia Bautista Victoria, had begun having worship services and were continuing renovating our old church building on Murray Street. Today, we are excited that they are inviting us to join them and Victory Baptist Church in a Cultural Thank You Day, September 16 @ 12:45. Some of their congregation will be dressed in their native costumes and serving food typical of their homes in Mexico and Central America. This will be a very unique celebration as our 3 congregations come together to praise God for what He has done and is doing. Everyone is invited.

It seems that our world has gone mad. Isaiah predicted it (5:20) “Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil;” As we observe what the LGBTQ+ forces are doing in every aspect of our nation, trying to legitimize that which is a perversion, we are appalled. Recent stories of indoctrination in elementary public schools in Austin, Texas promoting gender-declassification, coupled with the Drag Queen Story Time scheduled in over 26 cities in the next few months, including the Public Library in Lafayette, La. should shock us to our core. The demonic forces that controlled Sodom and Gomorrah have resurfaced with fierce intensity. The fierce push by the LGBTQ+ forces is not limited to the children in schools. It is scoring major victories on huge corporations, universities and even Christian churches and denominations.

Churches like East Ridge that take an unwavering stand on what the Bible teaches, and how these perversions are NOT acceptable because God calls them an abomination, are becoming fewer and fewer. Churches like ours are called very unflattering names and accused of fomenting hatred toward those who are involved. The opposite is true. Our stand on the truth of the word of God is a stand of love pointing out behavior that ends in destruction for all who fail to repent. We present Jesus as the Deliverer who saves souls and sets people free. Make no mistake. We are in a spiritual war that is rapidly heating up. We must put on the whole armor of God. Faith is our shield. Stand behind it. The Word of God is our weapon. Use it. We fight the fight by taking a firm stand and by kneeling in prayer. The victory will be ours. The glory will be God’s.

We love you; see you Sunday!

-Bro. Alan

Your relationship with God doesn't fluctuate based on your performance. If you're in Christ, you're just as much His child on your worst day as you are on your best day.

His love isn't measured by your consistency. It's measured by the finished work of Jesus Christ.
