Our Children’s Ministry is headed up by our Children’s Committee. Our Children’s Committee is a group of enthusiastic adults who find creative ways to teach our children about Jesus and His love!
Children are very special to us at East Ridge. From the newborn babies until they reach 6th grade, they are part of our children’s ministry. We have a nursery to care for the little ones during every activity and worship service. Our wonderful nursery workers have been providing loving care for many years.
For the preschool and school age children we have Sunday School, Discipleship Training, TeamKid and Children’s Church (ages 4-7 during Sunday morning worship). Our Children’s Committee works hard to minister to our children each week.
We also have special events throughout the year for the children: Spring Fling, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camps, Fall Festival, and a Children’s Christmas Play.
We have many different ways for your children to get involved on a weekly basis!
Sunday School
We have Sunday School classes for each age group. Whether your child is just learning to talk and walk or if they are grown and sassy, we have a class for them! Our teachers spend time throughout the week preparing their lesson to be able to teach your children about the love of God! Sunday School begins at 9:15 AM on Sundays.
While your child is in their class, you can be free to go to a class of your own. Here at East Ridge, you will be able to be spiritually fed without worrying about who your child is with. They are in safe hands!
Children’s Church
During Sunday morning church, we encourage parents to bring their children with them to worship! It is important for them to learn about singing to God and worshiping Him with the church body. However, when the preaching begins, the content is often far above their little heads. During this time, we encourage the children to go to children’s church. In children’s church, we teach your children about Jesus and His love for us, but we teach them at a level that they can understand. We also provide them with a snack and let them color, sing, or make crafts. Children’s church is for children 4-7 years old.
TeamKids
TeamKids is the program that we have for our kids on Wednesday nights. At TeamKids we teach our children about Jesus and the Bible. They learn the books of the Bible, memorize verses, sing songs, play games, eat a snack, and much more! Our kids have a blast on Wednesday nights while learning what is truly important. Bring your children to join us at 6 PM on Wednesdays. While they are there, you (the parent/guardian) can be free to join in on the adult Bible study in the Sanctuary.
