Christmas 2018 at East Ridge

Christmas 2018 at East Ridge

Here at East Ridge we have many events to celebrate the Christmas season and the birth of our Savior! See the schedule of events below and come get involved! We can’t wait to see you!

Lottie Moon Missionary Supper

Sunday, December 2, 5:30 PM

Join us as we learn about missionaries serving all over the world through the International Mission Board. Bring a potluck dish and come fellowship with us as we learn a bit about what these missionaries are doing.

Christmas Hang-Ups

Sunday, December 9, 5:30 PM

It’s just before Christmas and the tree ornaments have been awakened from their yearly hibernation by the movement of their storage box. It’s time! As they begin to prepare for another season on the Watson’s Christmas tree, they are greeted by a rather strange and un-Christmassy ornament: A hula-girl. The Star, the Snowman, the Angel and others don’t understand what she has to do with Christmas and give her a rather cool reception until another significant figure from the mantelpiece shows up to explain to all of them what Christmas is about and how they each have significance in God’s amazing plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus.

Join us as our children present “Christmas Hang-Ups” to us!

A Christmas Love Story

Saturday, December 15, 6:30 PM

Sunday, December 16, 5:30 PM

The choir and drama team at East Ridge present an original drama written by one of our own, “A Christmas Love Story.”

Zita, a young homeless woman, yearns to come out on the right side of life but she thinks it’s too late. When she butts heads with a few church people, she learns they recognize her inner fight because they’ve faced obstacles of their own. A rough start doesn’t mean the end. It can lead to a beautiful beginning: in Zita’s case–a Christmas love story.

As students, teachers, administrators, and school As students, teachers, administrators, and school staff head back to school today, let's cover them in prayer. ❤️

Pray for:
• God's protection over every campus.
• Peace instead of anxiety.
• Wisdom, strength, and encouragement for educators.
• Kindness and meaningful friendships.
• Focus, confidence, and a love of learning.
• Grace for families as they begin a new school year.

Lord, bless every student, teacher, and staff member today. Guide their steps, protect them, give them wisdom, and let them be a light to those around them. May this school year be filled with growth, hope, and Your presence. Amen.

Join us in praying for a safe, successful, and blessed school year! ?✏️
God already knew every hidden sin when Jesus went God already knew every hidden sin when Jesus went to the cross, and He still chose to take our punishment. No matter what you've done or how long you've carried it, there is forgiveness and grace in Jesus.
We spend so much time trying to manage what people We spend so much time trying to manage what people see on the outside, but God is concerned with what’s happening on the inside.

David’s prayer after his sin was simple: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

Real repentance isn’t just about being sorry for what we’ve done. It’s about asking God to change us from the inside out.

Psalm 51:10
We can spend a lot of energy hiding our sin, but h We can spend a lot of energy hiding our sin, but hiding never heals the heart. True freedom begins when we're willing to bring our sin into the light before God and be honest with Him.
